Revue d’études comparatives Est-Ouest launches a thematic series on the impact of the war in Ukraine on Central and Eastern Europe and Eurasia
The massive invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army on 24 February 2022 constitutes a historic upheaval for the Central and Eastern European and Eurasian regions. The war has affected the societies of these regions in many ways - through the migrations, circulations and mobilisations it has prompted, the representations and discourses associated with it, as well as by leaving its imprint on national and international political struggles. It has also had a profound impact on the geography of these regions, raising questions about the continuities and discontinuities that structure them.
In light of the urgent need to understand the many impacts of this war, and to give visibility to the research underway on these regions, the Revue d’études comparatives Est-Ouest (RECEO) is launching a publication project on the subject. To allow the publication of papers in a shorter timeframe, the editorial board proposes a variety of publication formats for this series. In addition to scientific articles (60,000 characters) subjected to double-blind peer review, research notes may also be submitted. These are shorter in length (40,000 characters), subject to internal review by the editorial board and aim at presenting work in progress rather than the final results of completed research. Review essays are equally welcome and will also be subject to internal review by the editorial board. The journal welcomes submissions in French or English.
Accepted papers will be published in the coming issues of the journal in the form of a thematic series.
